Roderick's life took on a new change...Joining the United States Marine Corps in July 1994. An already focused, professional, exceptional, determined businessman, after surviving Boot Camp and a tour in the Marines, Roderick's dynamic leadership skills were thrown into action. His professional basketball career and his promotional career was born. He went on to start his basketball career in Jakarta, Indonesia and played in Narita, Japan. He also played in other countries, such as, Tokyo and Thailand, to name a few.
Roderick's love for basketball took him to many corners of the world, but he also had a passion and desire for the Entertainment Arts and promoting great events for his Caribbean people. He started off with a small event in April of 1998 at a small club in Queens, New York. This became an annual event, until he moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 2002.
The now household name, and huge entertainment company, Dynasty Entertainment, was formed when Roderick and Devon Thompson, his best friend and fellow Marine, decided to be partners. Their vision was to make a difference in the "already" Trinidadian-dominated market; to bring joy and spread the culture to others, and to share music and positive entertainment with Barbadians and West Indians.

Roderick and his partner Devon's goal was to start with Brooklyn, and eventually hit the Manhattan scene. Devon was already doing events on the Hip Hop territory; so by combining forces, the opportunity knocked.

Immediately, plans spun into place, as Dynasty Entertainment took off and started to grow. Reaching out to a friend and very popular artist at the time,, Ricky Reid, also known as "Lil Rick", the show "The Return of Rick" came to fruition in January, 2007, and was a huge success. Following this high level of entertainment, the event, "Bajan Invasion", a 100 Percent Bajan show, arrived, and to this date, is known as one of the best Bajan events to have ever been done in Brooklyn. The road to top quality events was set into motion every year, bringing something more creative than the year before....From Labor Day weekend events, everything that Roderick can be a part of to spread the Bajan/Caribbean culture, he has been affiliated with, or has been a part of tothe present.
Roderick's rise to be known as one of the most successful promoters in the business took him to different levels in the entertainment industry. Throughout the years, Dynasty Entertainment has broadened their umbrella to Artist Management, Music Production, Clothing Line, Swimwear Line, DJ-ing, and the list goes on. Collaborations with VP Records, Pyramid Management, and South Central Entertainment, led to greater success for Roderick and his company.
Reflecting on what has been done, the achievements and accomplishments, Roderick truly believes that they have only scratched the surface potential-wise. Brooklyn is a small drop in the worldwide market to spread Barbadian and Caribbean culture. He is yet to showcase the talents his country has to offer to places in the United States, as well as places on the other side of this planet. He is passionate about continuing his quest with Dynasty Entertainment and his umbrella organizations...to work together with the Barbados Tourism Authority, the National Cultural Foundation of Barbados, and the Consulates; creating a bright and positive future ahead. With the right amount of effort and diligence, they will keep flying the Barbados flag high; sharing quality and the best entertainment to as many countries as they are allowed to reach.
